Christmas Greetings…

Darrell Klassen Golf Family:

Merry Christmas to you. I sincerely wish I could meet each of you in person to give this greeting. Christmas time is a time for reflecting. At our home, we like to take some time to think about the things that are really important in our lives. We also like to examine ourselves to see where we can improve ourselves and the things around us.

There are only a few things that are extremely precious to me in life: my relationship with Jesus Christ, my wife and family, and you, the golfers who have become a part of my life. I put things in that order for a very definite reason. God has promised in the Bible that those who will believe Him and follow His Word will be blessed. Deuteronomy 28:12 says God will “bless ALL you set your hand to do,” and He has done that for us.

I have a wonderful wife and family, who are the reason I do what I do. Then, I have a philosophy that has been with me since I was about 25 years old. That philosophy is to help as many people in life as I possibly can. I have attempted to do that in both life and in golf.

In that line of thinking, it has always bothered me that golfers have been made to believe that the game, really the golf swing, is far too difficult to understand for the average person. We have been made to think only golf professionals will ever be able to strike the golf ball consistently and make the golf ball do what they want it to do.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Being self taught, there were many difficult days and times in the early years. However, once I saw the simplicity of it all, there was virtually never another day of struggling with it. Don’t get me wrong. I had to practice to become good at it. ANYTHING that ANYONE wants to become good at takes a lot of practice, and that includes business, music, sports, or anything else.

Golfers should be able to go to the range or course and at least make the golf ball do what they want it to do. Anyone can shoot a basketball. They may not make a lot of baskets, without a lot of practice, but they at least know how to do it. Golf should be no different. It just isn’t that tough.

The simplest secret I ever learned about golf is that the “swing” is NOT the important issue in golf. Making golf “shots” is the important thing. That is what will produce the swing, and not the other way around. I want you to learn how to make the “shots” and stop worrying about the “swing”. Then share the information with your friends. They deserve to know it, too.

Thank you for being a part of the Darrell Klassen Golf family. You are important to me. It may not mean anything to you, but I pray for God’s blessing on each and every one of you. I believe that my faith in God is supposed to spill over onto you and make you blessed, so may you have a marvelous and blessed Christmas, and a prosperous and healthy 2016.

Respectfully and sincerely,

Thanks Darrell for expressing your faith so clearly and your thoughts on Christmas. I share them with you. I have watched as many of your videos as I can find and purchased your lesson on grip. Wish I could justify and afford some one on one teaching from you. I have not taken lessons but have watched and followed many online instructors and try to emulate the professionals. What you have done to help me succeed in improving my game was missing in all the other teachings. Relax and strike through the ball. The game is fun now. Less mechanical, purer ball strikes, and better scores. From high 90’s to low 80’s this year. I’m a 65 year old five year golfer who found the joy of golf late in life. Thanks again for your down to earth instruction. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

I shot 93 today. Have been trying to break 100 for a long time. I attribute this to your Power Point video and the idea of holding the club without any tension. Thank you. Merry Christmas. Brian Melbourne Australia

When I turned on your message I thought to myself, ” I hope he wishes us a Merry Christmas instead of happy holidays.” I was just listening to Dennis Prager on the radio. He is Jewish but not offended when someone greets him with Merry Christmas. Thank you for the wonderful message
